Teachers should recognize that classroom management is not just to gain control and compliance in the classroom, but to also provide equal learning opportunities to all students. Cultural awareness is a surprisingly crucial piece to the puzzle of classroom management and instruction. A culturally responsive classroom is critical to creating a respectful, positive, and efficient environment for students to learn.
Creating a community in the classroom where students feel appreciated and respected because of their differences increases compliance and involvement in the daily classroom activities that are presented, and affects the behavior seen in the classroom between all students regardless of their diversity, learning abilities, or resources.
